Kamya Places in UN Speech Competition

What was the UN Speech Competition?

The youth of Curacao were invited to take part in an annual speech writing contest organized by the Consular Corps Curacao. The top 3 winners had the opportunity to present their ideas in front of the Prime Minister. The students had a choice of two essay topics and it had to be submitted by November 2020.

Kamya Places!

Kamya Chawla (Grade 12) was one of the top 3 finalists of the UN Speech Competition. She chose to write about the second topic – The real consequences of the COVID 19 Pandemic to nations. Since she placed in the top three, she participated in a virtual awards ceremony on Tuesday, January 19^th.  Since then she has been invited to participate in a radio show, as well as an upcoming dinner with the Prime Minister.
